30-Day Return Policy

We understand that the lighting or decor you purchased may not ultimately be what you had in mind, and we want to ensure your satisfaction with the final product. If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it within 30 days of delivery.

“As-New” Condition

To be eligible for a return, the item must be in its original unmarked packaging, complete with all parts and product and installation guides. “As-New” condition means that you would accept the item as new if you were to receive it.

Exceptions

In the rare event that an item is damaged in transit or arrives defective, we will promptly resolve the issue for you. The responsibility to inspect items upon delivery (and before scheduling installation) lies with the customer. Proper inspection upon arrival will prevent any delays in the returns process and avoid unnecessary installation fees. If you notice any damage, please contact us immediately so that we can initiate the return or replacement process. Capitol Lighting assumes no responsibility for costs incurred for installation and/or assembly.

Return Process

To initiate a return, please have your order number ready when making your return request. You can submit your request through any of the methods listed below:

  1. Sign into your account and request your return in the order history section.
  2. For regular-sized items, you will receive an email with our DHL return shipping label attached. You can then drop the item at a convenient DHL location. Track the progress of your return using the DHL website and the tracking number information.
  3. Please ensure the item is well-packed in its original packaging. Do not write or mark on the box in any way, apart from the return label.

Large items shipped by freight carrier require coordination, and we will work with you and the freight company in your area to schedule the pick-up. It is your responsibility to be physically present when the freight company arrives to retrieve the item. The transportation company chosen to retrieve the product will be DHL. Please ensure the item is well-packed in its original packaging, and do not write or mark on the box, apart from the bill of lading.

Return Credit

Upon receipt at the return destination, the item’s condition will be inspected for “as new” condition. Once confirmed, we will process your credit. The refund must be completed via the same method used for the original purchase. We are unable to provide a refund for orders placed outside of the last 6 months.

Important Information

To avoid any issues, please do not request a chargeback from your credit card company during the return process, as this may void your ability to receive any credit at all.
